Broken Hill
Trip 2010
The WACAS & partners, 29 in total, met bright and early at the Keswick
railway station for their train trip to Broken Hill. The bus met us on
arrival, delivered us to the Hotel for a quick freshen up then it was
out to tea at the Legion Club. Some had nice wins on the keno and
pokies, while others weren’t so lucky.
The following morning we had a guided tour of the town: Attractions were
the Junction Mine, Miners Memorial, Whites Museum and the Big Picture.
After a Club lunch and visits to art galleries we headed to the famous
Sculptures and Silverton. There was much laughter and fun with one
partner being a great sport by taking the “test” at the Silverton Hotel.
In the evening we dined on a scrumptious home cooked meal with quandong
pie as the sun set over the Mundi Mundi Plains.
The next morning the bus transported the weary but happy travellers back
to the station for the return trip to Adelaide.
A good time was had by all, and we would especially like to thank the
organisers for all their hard work and planning.
